Letter to our friends , visitors and sponsors
I write to you on behalf of Aesclepius Medical Society (AMS), a 501© 3 not-for-profit organization of physicians to invite you to our 34th anniversary and fundraising event. AMS was founded in 1984 by a group of medical students. The organization provides continuing medical education as well as health services to the medically under-served in New York and Haiti for the past 34 years. In the aftermath of the overpowering earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010 and beyond, the organization sent approximately 150 volunteers to Haiti, to provide care, donate food, water, clothes and 1000 pairs of shoes. AMS also responded to the Cholera outbreak by sending antibiotics, IV fluids as well as a delegation of providers. Until recently, the organization had been embarked on a project to send to school impoverished children in need of an education. To face the destruction caused by hurricane Matthew, AMS completed a mission in Haiti whereby, water, food, clothes and medications were provided to hundreds who are severely affected. Those have been just a few of our activities in Haiti. In NEW York, AMS held its latest Health Fair on Oct. 13, 2018.
Today, the need in Haiti is no less than before and AMS will continue to respond. To that effect, we have revisited our old theme for the upcoming fundraising event:
“If you talk the talk for Haiti, walk the walk for Haiti!”
On Saturday, February 23, 2019 (9:00PM-2:00AM), we are hosting the fundraising Gala Dinner Dance at Leonard’s Palazzo. We have selected four (4) outstanding honorees who will be recognized for their contributions to our community.
Their names will be announced soon.
We expect approximately 500 guests at the Gala. We are appealing to your concern and deepest generosity to support our event by attending or donating to our causes. Depending on your level of support, you will be recognized in our advertising campaigns. To reach us, please contact: Nicole Francis at (516) 514-4557.
Thank you in advance for your support! We look forward to seeing you on February 23, 2019 as we celebrate AMS with the superb music of KLASS.
